Shaker Road School is a private, independent school of 325 students and 55 faculty members, located centrally in New Hampshire in the state’s capital of Concord. As you walk the 63-acre campus, you will find newly constructed classroom buildings, lunchrooms, playgrounds, athletic fields, a pond, greenhouses, the school library and media center.
The year round, full-day program allows time for recreational outdoor activities. For example, ice-skating and cross-country skiing are offered all winter. In the summer months, the school transforms into a day camp with flowers in constant bloom where over 450 campers enjoy recreational swimming as well as Red Cross-certified water safety instruction in the two in-ground pools. There is also a six hole golf course for students to compete in golf tournaments and for their families to enjoy on weekends together.
Established in 1979, Shaker Road School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is recognized as an Approved Program by the New Hampshire Department of Education. The school is located on 95 Shaker Road in East Concord, New Hampshire, and services children from preschool through the ninth grade.

Shaker Road School enhances its students' natural enthusiasm for learning through positive social, physical, and academic experiences, while creating a deeper awareness of the world around them. Shaker Road School provides a community whereby all people are respected, loved and cared for, and safe from physical and emotional harm. Students are continuously challenged to recognize their self-worth and respect the diversity of others.
HISTORY
Patricia and Douglas Hicks established Shaker Road School in 1979, to meet the social, educational, physical and daily care needs of preschool children age two years nine months through six years of age. The child care center started with six children of various ages, and has grown to encompass Shaker Road School and Camp Shaker, actively engaging children from ages two years nine months through ninth grade. Its continued success has been based upon its ability to adjust to the changing needs of its children and families.
In response to the developing needs of its families, Shaker Road School began to offer grade levels beyond kindergarten in 1993, and now extends through the ninth grade. The expanded facilities now support the successful traditional educational program as well as technology education. We continue to develop and enhance educational and recreational programs based on our philosophy and mission statement.
